What are old tea bushes?

Old tea bushes are tea trees that have grown for 50 to 60 years or more. They live high up in cloud-covered mountains, nourished by streams and far from city noise. This very special environment gives old tea bushes their simple, strong character.

As tea trees age, especially taller types, they usually slow down naturally after many years. But in places with clean air and rich soil like Wuyi Mountain, this slowing happens much later. Here, the old tea bushes thrive because of three things: constant mist keeps them moist, plenty of soft light helps leaves grow gently, and fresh streams feed their roots. These conditions let them live long, healthy lives.

You can easily tell old tea bushes apart from young ones. Their trunks are covered with green moss, just like nature's own record of their long life. Their flavor is completely different too.

While young tea plants give bright, fresh tastes, old bushes offer something more complex and comforting. That moss on their bark isn't just decoration. It actually adds to the tea's unique mineral quality. Besides, its aroma exhibits woody and floral characteristics while delivering smooth richness and natural sweetness.

What you get in your cup is more than just tea. It's the taste of time, of mountain mist, clean water, and patient growing. It's a drink that connects you to those 60 years of sunshine, rain, and mountain winds.
