A tea family connection
Some journeys begin with a single step.
Ours began with a single leaf.
Katniss and I (Alaric) grew up in Wuyi
Mountain, where tea is the first language. But after years working in offices, we realized something was missing — the kind of connection that only happens when your hands are stained with tea leaves, not keyboard keys. So, we left our jobs, called on friends from distant tea-growing families... Together, we built Rooteas.
We don’t hurry things here. Our rock tea leaves unfurl like old letters; our black tea soup darkens like twilight… There’s a reason we say:
“Brew it slow, drink it slower.”
This isn’t about trends. It’s about what happens when you let water and leaves converse in their own language. When you choose to sit long enough to hear the story in your cup.

A Collaborative Passion
To make our dream for Rooteas come true, we’ve joined hands with friends across Fujian and Taiwan. The Xiao family now works with three other tea-growing families who share our deep love for tea. Together, we’re bringing our passion to the world.
We only partner with families who treat the land like family. These tea-makers have cared for the same soil for generations. They understand, like we do, that great tea starts with respecting the earth.
Our trust in each other needs no paperwork. It’s built on years of working side by side. We share everything openly, no secrets, just honest talk, hard work, and patience. When we pass baskets of freshly picked leaves, we’re sharing our hopes too.
In our family workshops, you’ll see simple but careful work. Young and old hands work together. We let the leaves take their time with the mountain air. When the tea is finally ready, what you taste is more than tea, it’s the
heart of our shared effort.
