So wonderful aged white tea. Not just sugary like many but much more subtle and complex. Honey aswell as woody notes, also this tea allows for a huge number of brews !
These little tea coins are incredibly powerful! Da Hong Pao is one of my absolute favourite rock teas and I have tried multiple varietals from different tea producers and this one has blown me away. This tea is incredibly fragrant directly from the package with honey, orchid and fruity notes that fully come to life in the brew. There is certainly a pronounced "peachiness" that is present in the tea which blends well with the classic Rock rhyme flavour delivered by a smooth, mellow liquor with a great mouth feel. This tea coin last 10 infusions for me gong fu style and I find that it's form factor lends well to travel, tea at the office or a quick tea session at home if you want to maximise your experience when limited on time. I am now obsessed and will be purchasing more of these tea coins very soon!
This four famous bushes sampler is wonderfully packaged, the box and each packet is a work of art that contains some of the most delicious rock teas I've ever tried. You can truly taste the hand crafted mastery of the Rooteas team in each brew and I have been taking the time to savour them one by one. My favourite by far is the Bai Ji Guan which has a dynamic, floral flavour with a soft, sweetness that compliments a peaceful tea drinking experience. I highly recommend checking out this sampler to get a good feel for some of the amazing teas that come out of the Wuyi Mountains.
I ordered this as part of a larger order at Rooteas and was surprised how fast it arrived even in Europe. Everything went well without issues. This tea itself is very interesting to try. Try out various styles for brewing to discover how to get the most sweetest notes out of the tea. Maybe not for beginners but you can learn and master it more with every steep and brew. Have fun!
