The towering Alishan Mountain creates ideal growing conditions for oolong tea trees. The tea production area in the Alishan region is mostly at altitudes ranging from 1,000 to 1,800 meters above sea level. The tea gardens in this region cover approximately 10,000 hectares. The majority of this tea production area is located in Taiping within Meishan Township and ranges between elevations of 900 to 1,400 meters. The primary tea cultivated in this area is Qingxin Oolong.
